Over 4,000 years ago, the Indus valley civilization was spread across the Indian subcontinent, covering parts of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is the first ever urban civilization known to human-kind, the remains of which have been found in nearly 1,400 sites! Urban Zaveri draws from our continent's rich history to bring you a unique collection inspired from the Indus Valley Civilization. Each piece of jewellery in this collection is rooted in history and inspired by the legacy Indus has left behind. Symbolism and motifs from this era are adapted to express modernity that fit the 21st century. The Indus people wore gold and were fond of the lustrous gemstone called lapis lazuli. We combine the deep blue of the lapis with ornaments made of 92.5 silver finished with a gold polish. The unique pieces in this collection bear marks of what our ancestors of the Indus era were surrounded by, valued and wore.
